LaCie unveils Little Big Disk with Thunderbolt support

first_imgThe standout feature on the new MacBook Pro range announced earlier today is Thunderbolt: a new I/O tech developed by Intel and Apple that was originally codenamed Light Peak.With Thunderbolt, file transfers get a major boost due to the 10Gbps connection speed. But in order to use that lighting-fast data transfer tech, you need supporting hardware. That MacBook Pro may already be paid-for, but what can you transfer via Thunderbolt to? Storage company LaCie has you covered with its first Thunderbolt storage solution.The LaCie Little Big Disk will provide users of the new MacBook Pros, and any other machines when they become compatible, the ability to transfer multiple HD streams at once, or backup gigabytes of data in just a few minutes.For the moment LaCie is not divulging what the storage options will be, or how much Little Big Disk will cost.
