He said that “if Labor is elected, they will be contacting the British Government in their first week asking them to return the Parthenon Marbles back to Greece.”These words, according to Mr Georgiou, had resonated with the Greek community of Australia. The PM was urged to act now and “act strongly and decisively”.“This is why I write to you now. Don’t let Labor take the moral high ground on this issue,” he added, saying that it would be noted in the Greek community, a community, which has felt neglected by the previous Liberal leaders who had forgotten their promises.READ MORE: Parthenon Marbles were looted, say experts“In my state of Western Australia this was reflected in the seat of Cowan where the vocal Greek-Australian community did not feel represented by the then sitting member, Luke Simpkins and as a result turned out in large numbers to vote him out,” he said.“Should you return to WA I would be happy to introduce you to a number of people who would like to share their passion regarding this issue with you,” Mr Georgiou concluded.last_img read more
