A session of the Executive Board of the Croatian Employers’ Association of the Nautical Sector Association was held at the Croatia Boat Show to discuss the adoption of the Maritime Property and Seaports Act, the increase in sojourn tax for boaters and the results of a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Tourism. and when purchasing a vessel on lease.Roko Vuletić, President of the Executive Board, commented on the round table on the Law on Maritime Property and Seaports organized by the Association of the Nautical Sector, where representatives of the ministry announced some changes that are positive for nautical. For example, the abolition of the variable part of the concession fee, and the compensation of the old concessionaire in a certain percentage of the investment in certain cases. Regarding the issue of the commercial part of sports ports, a modality is required that would minimize the possibilities of manipulation. With regard to the commercial activity of ports open to public traffic, efforts will be made to reduce the percentage of such commercialization. When the working group adopts the draft law, it should go through the consultation procedure when the association has the opportunity to act with its comments, which is provided for in III. quarter of this year, Vuletic pointed out.Igor Mihajlov commented on the adoption of amendments to the Maritime Code, which does not sufficiently deal with nautical. “The amendments will address the issue of legal certainty and standardization of contracts specific to nautical activities. The intention is to apply general, legally established rules and provisions in the event that there are no concluded agreements, and in order to minimize the possibilities of interpretation of the rights and obligations of the opposing parties. ” Mihajlov pointed out. All present agreed to organizes a round table on this topic at the next nautical fair, to which all representatives of marinas should be invited, for whom this segment is very important. The Minister of Tourism did not attend the meeting held by the Croatian Employers’ Association with the Ministry of Tourism regarding the enormous increase in the sojourn tax for boaters. The proposal of the Nautical Sector Association is reduction of the lump sum of the sojourn tax for boaters because on the example of only three marinas that have 54 canceled ships in the three months of application of the Regulation, harmful effects on nautical tourism can be seen. Also, it is also considered wrong imposed obligation for marinas to collect the sojourn tax. Next week, if there are no changes in the desired direction, HUP will launch a stronger campaign to reduce the sojourn tax for sailors, enable the payment of sojourn tax per day for all categories, and equalize sailors with property owners in terms of lump sum sojourn tax.Related news:THE NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES OF THE DRASTIC INCREASE IN THE RESIDENCE TAX IN NAUTICS ARE ALREADY FEELED ON THE FIELD, AND WILL ONLY BE FELTRESEARCH ON CAPACITY AND BUSINESS OF NAUTICAL TOURISM PORTS, 2017THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA ADOPTED THE DECREE ON DETERMINING THE AMOUNT OF RESIDENCE TAX FOR 2018
