According to MHI Vestas, the deal is delivering on its local content ambitions in Taiwan. MHI Vestas Offshore Wind will has signed a purchase agreement to source wind turbine towers from CS Wind-Chin Fong for its offshore wind turbines in Taiwan. The company also plans to sign more local supply chain contracts in 2020. “Towers being sourced locally in Taiwan is another positive development for the local supply chain”, said Maida Zahirović, MHI Vestas Taiwan Business Director. “MHI Vestas’ leading localisation plan is continuing to deliver benefits for Taiwan, in partnership with local suppliers”. The wind turbine manufacturer signed a conditional agreement with CS Wind-Chin Fong in October 2018.
