Damen Shipyards Group plans to establish a service hub in the Russian port of Novorossiysk as it has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Delo Group of companies. The LOI was inked during the NEVA 2017 trade fair in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Under the terms of the agreement, the cooperation between the duo regarding the new service hub will commence before the end of 2017.As explained, the primary aim of the service hub will be to optimize services provided to the growing number of Damen vessels operating in the Black Sea area. Currently, more than 30 vessels that Damen built are operating in the region. This is set to increase in the coming months as Delo Services will take delivery of three Damen tugs in November. In addition, the handover of the fourth tug is scheduled for 2018.“Having a service hub here will allow Damen to react very quickly to any service or maintenance issues, by which Damen ship owners can increase the uptime of their vessels. Moreover, an ongoing service programme can also lengthen the entire lifetime of a vessel while reducing the total cost of ownership,” Damen said.In addition to providing service support to vessels in the area, the new service hub will also have relevance to operations at Aleksino Port Marina Shipyard, according to Damen.Part of DeloPorts, Aleksino Port Marina Shipyard is a ship repair facility located in the Port of Novorossiysk, on the north-eastern coast of the Black Sea.

Touch Football in Australia is going from strength to strength on the back of its partnership with the National Rugby League. The alliance between Touch Football Australia and the NRL occurred in late 2013 and since then the profile of Touch Football has increased dramatically. So much so that a Mixed Touch Football All Stars series like that of the Rugby League will take place on Saturday. The Indigenous Touch All Stars will take on the TFA All Stars at Suncorp Stadium in a two-match series on Saturday, with the latter to be played just prior to the kick-off of the Harvey Norman NRL All Stars fixture. A match will also be played on Friday afternoon to make it a three-match series. Events like Saturday, accompanied with high profile sponsors such as Harvey Norman, are giving the sport the exposure it needs. This exposure is turning into high participation levels and an increasing supporter base. Pathways are now there for talented men and women to turn their Touch Football skills into a career with the NRL.Touch Football requires agility, fitness and speed – all of which are important components of rugby league and NRL clubs are on the lookout for the next fleet-footed superstar.Four-time Touch Football World Cup winner and TFA All Stars representative, Kylie Hilder, says the partnership between the two codes has done wonders for the profile of Touch Football in Australia. “I’ve been in the game a long time and it’s only been since the NRL has come on board with the alliance that Touch Football has just gone through the roof,†Hilder said. “I think people are just starting to realise that Touch Football is not just a game that people might play as a warm up or and off-season game to rugby league. “You need to have skill and be an athlete to play Touch Football at a high level. “I really like the fact that the NRL clubs are starting to realise that this partnership is bringing more people to their game as well. Many rugby league players started their sporting journey in the sport of Touch Football. Both Australian international Scott Prince and New Zealand international Shaun Johnson started their careers stepping around defenders in Touch Football competitions. Prince, now retired from rugby league, has returned to Touch Football. A participant in the Indigenous All Stars Touch Football team last year, Prince is now a mentor for the 2016 team.He says the partnership has created opportunities for both men and women to create a career doing what they love. “It’s massive. It raises the profile of Touch Football,†said Prince. “The NRL has some fantastic supporters and sponsors of it. It’s been great to see Harvey Norman jump on board with a Touch sponsorship throughout all the platforms. Through the national leagues, the World Cup and now the All Stars week. “I think even the fact that the number of pathways that this partnership creates is something special. Whether it’s through the women that move onto rugby league. The boys can push on from Touch and go into the rugby league. “It’s an opportunity for players like me who have retired from rugby league who still think they can contribute without the full on conflict and training. That is what makes this partnership so perfect.â€Related LinksNRL All Stars

BUDAPEST, Hungary – China’s premier outlined his hope Monday that his country’s closer co-operation with central and eastern Europe will help foster prosperity in the region. At a summit of 16 countries in the Hungarian capital, Premier Li Keqiang said efforts such as China’s “new Silk Road” initiative to expand trade across Asia, Africa and Europe, should be a boon to the countries that were formally part of the communist bloc.“Our aim is to see a prospering Europe,” he said, adding that the closer ties with the 16 countries, which includes 11 European Union members, will “usefully complement” EU-China relations.China’s rapid economic growth has seen the country ratchet up its spending on the global stage, and the “Silk Road” prospect is a key trade effort.Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, host of the “16+1” summit, said the region was in need of external technological and financial resources, including from China, to grow.“European resources are in themselves insufficient,” Orban said. “For this reason we welcome the fact that as part of the new economic world order, China sees this region as one in whose progress and development it wants to be present.”Orban mentioned the reconstruction of a railway line between Budapest and Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, a project financed mainly by China, as a “flagship project” of China’s increased presence in the region.Orban said that the upgraded railroad line could become the fastest transport route to Western Europe of China’s new Silk Road.Li laid out his hope that the countries of eastern Europe, which generally are poorer than those in the west, will account for more of China’s imports, which should total some $8 trillion over the next five years.“We hope the central and eastern European countries find their place in this volume and expand their presence on the huge Chinese market,” Li told an economic forum being held during the summit.Orban, who has closed off his country to most migration from outside Europe, especially Muslims, said Europe needed “strong allies” to confront the “historical challenges” it is faced with.“If Europe shuts itself in, it loses the possibility of growth,” Orban said. “We 16 have always been open and would always like to remain so. We always saw co-operation with China as a great opportunity.”Orban has been keen to pursue a policy of “Eastern Opening” for Hungary, looking to increase trade with Asia while portraying Western Europe as economically challenged and losing its global standing. His stance is seen as an effort to discredit criticism from the European Union that he is undermining democratic principles.“We see the Chinese president’s ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative as the new form of globalization which does not divide the world into teachers and students but is based on common respect and common advantages,” Orban said.

Mumbai: Content consumption on television is increasing despite the burgeoning Over the top (OTT) industry, according to television rating agency Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC). Linear TV from 600 billion man minutes in 2015 has grown by 67 percent to 1 trillion in the last four years. There are 100 million homes yet to own a TV and still the size is two and a half times. Almost 613 million viewers tune in to watch TV each day, just at 67 percent penetration. Regional has increased massively in terms of consumption he said, while noting that 75 new channels were added in 2018, of which 52 were regional. Regionalisation is what we see as s massive opportunity and a massive thrust that has happened on TV, he said. Ramgarhia said tier II towns are the next engine of growth for television. Advertising led video on demand is going to be the primary growth driver for the OTT sector. From 9 platforms in 2012 to 32 platforms in 2018, with more being added each year. Advertising led video on demand continues to drive the market, still 82 percent of revenues advertising led and 18 percent is what is subscription led video on demand, he said. The OTT space is estimated to be USD 500 million and expected to grow 10 times to USD 5 billion in the next five years, he said, adding that of the USD 500 million, 80-85 percent is advertising led video on demand. Advertising led video on demand is going to be the primary driver as far as India is concerned. Its a very price sensitive market. Advertising led video on demand is going to be a mainstay for some time to come, he said. He added that measurement would be a catalyst for advertising ecosystem on OTT space and there is a need for uniform currency matrix.
