Passenger family dog thrown from car in Norwich crash

Two people and their family dog have been seriously injured in a “violent” single-vehicle rollover on Highway 59 near Norwich.Oxford County OPP officers reported in a Facebook Live video the crash occurred around noon on Friday when the driver of a pickup truck travelling south on Highway 59 lost control, entering the ditch and hitting a hydro pole.The car then rolled eight to 10 times, said Oxford OPP Const. The dog also suffered serious injuries and is being treated by a veterinarian.Sanchuk said the crash is still under investigation, and there is no indication as to whether the crash was medically caused.Highway 59 is closed between Maple Dell Road and Milldale Road while police investigate, and Sanchuk said the road will likely be closed into Friday evening.Updates to follow.
